The Story
Hello! Welcome to Black Botanical Press (BBP for short). My name is Hazel and I started this business out of an urge for more creativity and freedom in my life in 2021. I started my journey of flowers at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA where I got my bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Agriculture and I learned how to practice organic farming and grow flowers. After that, I was a florist for 3 years where I learned all about the design of floral arranging. I decided to take those skills and create another form of flower art that I did not see very often: flower preservation. The idea of being able to hold on to flowers for longer than a week really inspires me. I have always been obsessed with nature and its beauty, and now through this business and your support I can be surrounded by it all the time. Adding to that, I never use harsh chemicals in my preservations. They are 100% natural and the way nature intended. Everything is locally/organically sourced for my art and I am working on having most of the flowers be homegrown through sustainable farming methods. Thank you so much for visiting and I hope we can share the joy of flowers together for years to come.
